Am planning to join the GHT (Great Himalaya Trail) trek in 2012, the western part of a Nepal traverse. The Lantang section starts in Kathmandu Apr 29 but I plan to arrive 1-2 weeks earlier for acclimitisation. The 4 sections will be connected so it takes totally c.a.87 days with resting and re-supply days in between. If anyone is interested or planning to walk any of the sections please drop a line :-)

Am also happy to hear your independent trekking plans …

If you get bored drop me a note -

Partner for the Annapurna Region – currently in Pokhara!

Hi, I’m interested in finding a trekking partner (or two or three) who are currently in or near Pokhara to start a trek from here in the next few days (I just arrived yesterday). I have done a good bit of hiking, but never a multi-day trek, so I’m looking for something of 5-7 days and not too difficult, but a challenge is okay! 23 yrs old, from USA…let me know if you’re interested!

Hiking Partner for Annapurna Region or EBC, Now!

Am currently in Pokhara resting from last trek, the Annapurna Circuit, and would like to hook up with people for another trek – am flexible where and when to go although would like to head off in the next week ideally (today is the 22nd Feb) and of course I have already done the circuit so would like to experience another region. Like location am easy on use of porter / guide although I did the last trek carrying my own gear and that was no problem but am generally easy-going and agnostic on that issue as there are valid arguments for and against a porter / guide etc. Drop me an email if you are looking for a good trekking buddy!

Looking to trek for around 10 days in Nepal – mid February 2012

Hi everyone,

Looking to trek with whoever is interested sometime in mid February out of either Pokhara or Kathmandu. I’m looking at starting sometime between the 14th-18th, to give myself enough time to get back to Kathmandu to leave. I’m thinking the ABC or Langtang but not keen on just walking myself. What’s the point of amazing sights without anyone to share it with? I’m 26 years old Australian guy, not much hiking experience before. Up for a challenge but no heroics. Would probably go with a guide dependent on others experience.

If you’re interested let me know!

Cheers,
Will

Trekking in April in Annapurna?

Posted 3 days ago on 20 February 2012 @ 9:12 am

Hi All,

I will be in Nepal from March 28th to May 5th. I have an open itinerary during that time, but am so far leaning toward doing the Annapurna Circuit, including the Sanctuary. I hiked the sanctuary in 2006, with friends, but am doing this visit alone. I am seeking trekking partner(s). I am open to other routes. Hit me up if you are interested, or just want to bounce ideas off each other to help be better informed.

I have done some investigation into the Annapurna Circuit, and understand that the road being built on the East side of the trek may make it less enjoyable than it was just a few years ago. I am wondering if this is the best time to do the trek or if the road has already done its toll on the trek. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks, Namaste,

Joe

Everest Base Camp and other nice treks Nov-Dec-Jan 2012

Hi guys

I’m looking for trekking companions to the Everest Base Camp trek some time late November / December. I’m pretty flexible with dates but will need to be back in Kathmandu around 10th of January latest. I have no preference for a particular itinerary as of yet.

I was born in Iran in 1964, did trekking almost since I could walk. Climbed Mount Damavand (5672 m) 2 times. Left Iran when I was 22 and since then I have been leaving in Norway.

I am a kind of fit, as I take good care of my health. I also plan a to follow an exercise program before I head to Nepal.

I prefer to carry my own gear (I always do) and as my budget is limited I prefer not to involve any guide. Anyhow if a guide would be a must I wouldn’t mind sharing the cost. I do take risks, but life is always the most precious gift!

I’ve left this pretty late so if you’re interested let me know as soon as you can so we can chat further!

Look forward to hear from you guys
Best regards,
Reyza,
Oslo Norway

Hi there,

I’m looking for trekking companions to the Everest Base Camp trek some time in February. I’m pretty flexible with dates but will need to be back in Kathmandu by early March at the latest. I have no preference for a particular itinerary as of yet.

I am Australian, fit (but admittedly not a marathon runner) and in my early twenties. I have no trekking experience so I’ll be looking at hiring a porter for myself and would like to split the costs for a guide as I am not keen on package tours.

I’ve left this pretty late so if you’re interested let me know as soon as you can so we can chat further!

New Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek

Tsum Valley – A Visit to the Forgotten Valley

For thousands of years the Himalayas have been a refuge for seekers of relaxation and inner peace. Due to its remoteness the Tsum Valley has remained such an oasis of quietness and recreation up to the present time, a hidden spot where it is easy to forget the hectic and the turmoil in our daily life.

This remote valley in the north of Nepal has been open to tourists only since October 17, 2007. It is not only the majestic peaks of the Himal Chuli (7‘832m), the Ganesh Himal (7‘429m) and the Sringi Himal (7‘187m) but also the numerous monasteries with their antic treasures of art, religion and culture that attract visitors and inspire them to pause for a while in this forlorn spot near the Nepal-Tibet border.

On our trek through the Budhi Gadanki Valley and through the areas of „lower“ and „upper“ Tsum we discover a multifaceted natural museum with many reminders of past eras and experience a way of life that is still characterized by traditional customs and classic Buddhist thinking and acting.

I am a German Male, 46, looking for a trekking partner for the Around Manaslu trek without guide/porter. I’ve done several treks in Nepal, can but do not like to walk fast, especially I prefer to acclimatize well to enjoy the scenery at high altitude instead of hurrying through the trek. I carry a tent, enough for 2 people in case of emergency. I’d like to start around 22nd of February. Please write if you’re interested and we can meet soon. I will arrive in Kathmandu 14th of February

Companions for Tilicho trek en Chulu East peak

Posted 9 days ago on 14 February 2012 @ 2:04 am

Hey!

I am looking for people who want to walk/climb with me. I would like to start in Jomsom, walking the Tilicho trek, which passes by the lake and then down to Manang. From there I would like to climb Chulu East, one of the higher trekking peaks in Nepal (6584m), but technically relatively straightforward, or so I am said. Walking out can be done by the Torung La and Muktinath. I estimate all this can be done in about 20 days. For me April would be perfect.

This is not an easy Sunday out, so I am looking for fit people who have already some acclimatisation. And I imagine that it will not be very cheap. The agencies I asked (I’m already in Nepal) don’t want to give a price yet. It will all depend on how many people want to join. Ideally we would be with five or six. If we agree on the principle, we can send a more organised mail to the different agencies.

Everebody welcome! I am a 35 year old belgian traveller. Somebody must be the first to post. I did. Maybe you looked for the opportunity, maybe I start your fantasy,… Just think it over and let me know. You can mail me at toonsblog@gmail.com. I am walking for a few weeks. I will try to check my mail sometimes.

Let’s go!

Manaslu and/or Annapurna – March 2012

Hi, my name is Adam and I am a relatively fit Englishman who is travelling to Nepal in early March 2012. I am seeking a trekking companion (1 or more). I’m flexible as to the trek/s I do although I was looking at the Manaslu and/or Annurpurna circuits. I walk at a relaxed pace and like to enjoy the scenery and culture. I like to think I’m good company and generally have a laugh with whoever I am with. There is some flexible in dates (within reason) as I’m looking to spend 4-6 weeks in Nepal. If you are interested please contact me on e-mail: asms@talktalk.net and we can go from there.

Thanks

Trekking buddy in Langtang, mid-march 2012

Posted 10 days ago on 12 February 2012 @ 11:28 pm

Hey, I’ve been volunteering in Nepal, and will be free on March 13th to trek. I hope to start a Langtang trek either March 14th or March 15th. I’m planning to spend a few days at the end of the valley to explore and scramble up some of the surrounding minor peaks.

As Langtang is fairly straightforward, I’m looking to not take any guide or porter. I have extensive mountaineering/backpacking/wilderness medicine experience, including working as a wilderness ranger in the United States.

I’d like to if possible find a trekking buddy who is interested in the trek at the same point in time. We’d take a public bus from kathmandu to Syabru besi and start from there.

Let me know if you’re interested!

Cheers,
John
