Annapurna circuit trek with Naar & Phu and Kang La

Those who always wanted to do the Annapurna Circuit, but missed it at its prime. The side trip to Phu will be appreciated by the culturally curious as well as the adventurer who gets an extra pass and another mighty mountain view, as well as a medieval village to marvel at. It’s also a good bet for the monsoon trekker.

GHT Helambu and Langtang trek

With it being seemingly so close to Kathmandu, and close to the the popular, wonderful and easy Helambu and Langtang treks, you might think that this GHT section would be one of the easier ones. It’s not the case. The high-route is remote, wild and technical and many will prefer to skirt around Helambu and reach Langtang via the well-trekked Laurebina La and the holy waters Gosaikunda. If you do decide to take the high route from The Last Resort, on the Bhote Kosi river and road from Kathmandu to Lhasa, up into the high hills you’ll need to be [...]

Kanchenjunga base camp trek

Experience trekker, and Everest Region guidebook writer Jamie McGuinness says, “I love the Kanchenjunga region because there is still so much exploring to do. Even the main route feels un-trekked.” The Kanchenjunga base camp trek is the most popular way to get to KBC and back. .

GHT Upper Dolpo to Jomsom trek

Instead of following the more popular Dolpo Circuit trek, the Upper Dolpo to Jomsom trek heads further north to an area very close to the Tibet border and then walks out along the challenging trail to Jomsom giving you a good number of days on one of the most special sections of The Great Himalaya Trail.

Makalu with Barun Pokhari (lake) on GHT Makalu basecamp Trek

Arun Valley & Makalu Base Camp trek

The Makalu Barun National Park offers some of the most spectacular scenery in the Himalayas. The rewards of trekking here are great, but hard won – it’s remote, wilderness country and for the experienced trekker. The Makalu Base Camp Trek is an exception 19 day trek.

Tamang Heritage Trail trek

The Tamang Heritage Trail is unique because it offers a closer look at village life that is less developed and travelled. It’s away from the crowds and makes a good extension to the Langtang trek.

Makalu to Everest trek – The ‘Three Cols’ GHT section

There is no doubt Makalu to Everest is the toughest and most challenging trek in Nepal due to the amount of days spent over 4,500m as well as having two mountaineering days required to cross the high passes.

However it is well worth the effort as Makalu to Everest is one of the most scenic treks in Nepal with superb views all the way up the Barun Valley (known as Yosemite of Nepal).

Tsum Valley
