Mads has contributed photographs to this site from some of the (even) more off the beaten trail places.
Born in Denmark, Mads has spent most of the last 13 years in Nepal and the wider Himalayan region. He began his career as a mountain bike and hiking guide in the Kathmandu Valley, but soon he found himself not only guiding trips all over the Himalayas from Ladakh to Bhutan but also personally arranging them.
For many people it’s the adventure of altitude or climbing a peak that takes them to the world’s highest mountains but for Mads it’s the people and their cultures that keep him exploring. A veteran in the adventure travel business he has organized and led trips in Turkey, Morocco, Tibet, India, Cambodia and Sri Lanka but Nepal remains his true love, where he spends half his time trekking, biking and guiding people through Kathmandu’s narrow alleys.
